Apple Ads Issue
Massive drop in popularity data from Apple Ads API update
Since early October, Apple Ads has been providing incorrect popularity data on thousands of keywords. Many of these keywords, which previously showed higher popularity values, are now erroneously displaying a value of 5.
This issue does not only affect Astro, but all ASO tools on the market that extract their data from Apple Ads. After spending hours investigating Apple's APIs, we confirmed that while Apple Ads appears to work correctly on the surface, there are significant underlying issues affecting data quality and reliability.
What you should do: Since the current data is incorrect, we advise you not to change your ASO strategy based on this information. Continue to use Astro as usual; the ranking information and keyword tracking are working correctly. Once the situation is resolved, we will send you an email explaining how to update your popularity data.
