Import/Export Keywords
How to import and export your keywords in a CSV file
Astro allows you to export your keywords in CSV format and subsequently import them back into the app.
Exporting keywords to CSV serves various purposes, such as performing data analysis, creating backups, or migrating keywords between different stores.
⚠️ WARNING: When keywords are imported, they lose their historical ranking data over time and associated tags. To perform a complete backup of Astro data, follow this procedure.
How to Export Keywords
To export keywords, follow these steps:
- Select the store from which you want to export keywords, or choose “All” to export keywords from all stores
- Click the three-dot menu button in the navigation bar
- Select “Export Keywords”
- Choose a name for the generated CSV file
How to Import Keywords
To import keywords into Astro:
- Click the three-dot menu button in the navigation bar
- Select “Import Keywords”
- An Import Preview will appear, showing exactly which keywords will be imported and for which stores
Astro handles the import process differently depending on whether the CSV contains one or multiple stores:
CSV with Multiple Stores
When importing a CSV file containing keywords from multiple stores, Astro will:
- Remove duplicate keywords that are already present in the app’s database
- Display all keywords that can be imported
- Allow you to start the import process by clicking the “Import Keywords” button
CSV with a Single Store
When the CSV contains keywords from a single store, Astro offers additional flexibility:
- Import keywords into the store specified in the CSV file
- Alternatively, import keywords into a different store using the “Change Store” button
This feature enables easy keyword migration between stores without manual entry.
Once the import is complete, a notification banner will inform you that the keywords have been successfully imported.
